Learn Chess Board Set up: Step by Step 

We will guide the beginner of the chess that how to set up chess board step by step. It is a square board game divided into eight rows and eight columns called as ranks and files respectively (there are two types of colors in board, one is light and another is dark). Each rank start from 1 to 8 and files start from a to h, so each square has its own name like d2, f8, c4 etc. White pieces always gives first move, so white takes little advantages than black pieces.

There are some rules of chess board setup, which can stated below: 

Rule 1:- Set up chess board in right direction:

The bottom right corner of chess board should be light colored and left corner should be dark color. So, setup the chess board in right way is important. chess Set up of  board stated below:

Rule 2:- The Rooks sets in Corner of the board:

This pieces always set in the corner. White Rook set in h1 & a1 square and Black Rook set in h8 & a8 square respectively. It look like mini tower in chess set. Rook hold worth about 5 pawns.

Rules 3:- The Knight take the position next to the Rook

Knight can jump other pieces, and no one pieces can jump. Knight move like “L” position. Knight gain so much strength at the four center square. Knight hold worth about 3 pawns.

Rule 4:- The Bishop take the position next to the Knight 

It take places between king and knight or queen and knight. It moves diagonally any number of unblocked square. It worth about 3 pawns. Bishop are active in beginning of the game but if it survive to the end game it gain advantage for moving long range in board.

Rule 5:- The Queen set on her own color

White queen set in white square and black queen set in black square. Queen has worth about 9 pawns ,This pieces  can freely move to any square diagonally,vertically and horizontally. Queen has more power in the board except the king.

Rule 6:- The King put on last square remaining

king has more worth than all the pieces of the board . so players must saved their own king by any cost . King can freely move to any square diagonally,vertically and horizontally in one step.

Rule 7: Place the pawns in second and seventh ranks 

Last power White Pawn take second rank and Black Pawn take seventh rank respectively in front of the all pieces of chess boardPawn move forward only and capture the pieces diagonally.
